RE: How long of a trailer can I tow

I have a Equalizer and one sway bar and have no problems towing a 34 ft TT. Just got back from 3,000 mile trip

RE: Would you buy a high mileage vehicle as a tow vehicle?

I look for low mileage vehicles, I stay away from any vehicle with 80,000 miles or more. I know there are a lot of vehicles with 200,000 etc as my DS has a Toyota P/Up with 286,000 on it and all he does it beat the heck out of it

RE: Memory Foam Topper

Overstock.com........100.00/free shipping for MH Walmart for house 120.00. Both are Queen size. Bought a 4 inch thick memory from Overstock at about the same price Did not like it and gave to my DS and DIL. They love it !

RE: electric tongue jack

I would go with a 3500 Atwood. I bought the Ultra Fab 3500 last year and it strains every time I use it, never know if it is going to work or not, and this is when it just starts lifting. The Atwood I had worked for years with no problems other than the switch went out after 7 years or so

RE: Buy a 5th wheel trlr or a travel trlr????

It depends if you need the space in your TV bed for bikes etc , go with the TT. There are more steps to climb in a 5th w, plus the height. I tow a 34 ft TT and I have no sway or any other problems. I have had three 5th w. Still have a 40 ft on my RV lot in Yuma but I prefer TT as I load the TV bed with "stuff"

Cleaning the RV after a trip

Just wondering how many Wives help there DH clean the RV after a camping trip? We just got back yesterday after two months on the road camping in the Northwest and the DW cleaned the Ref out and stripped the bed. So far I brought in the clothes, washed the TT and awnings. Shampooed the carpet., cleaned the ref, sinks, bathroom . Cleaned out the three holding tanks etc. Meanwhile she has gone shopping for all the "good sales" that she just has to go to. Oh well, got to go put the awning away and put the TT under the metal cover which is hard to see by myself as all three sides are enclosed and I have to get the left side about three inches from the side of the cover in order for the extra wide door to open on the other side. And to think I have been married to her for 50 years the 9th of Sept !! LOL

RE: Thousand Traile Aquired By Equity Lifestyle Inc.

As long as they don't mess with my membership it should not concern me. There have been a lot of changes in the 25 years that I have been a member and each time TT tries to get me to upgrade my membership for more money. Never have and never will if I can keep from it. I like my $280 a year dues and unlimited camping

RE: Tip-out

You may have created a bigger problem by putting support under the slide out. Not a wise idea. I believe he has a tip out ,not a slide out. Big difference

RE: Good Sam Emergency Road Service Yes or No

I had the tire changed before ERS showed up the last two times. The last time we called for service {tire blowout} I was informed it would be two hours at least before help would arrive. I would still say "thumbs up" since my DW locks her keys inside or for whatever reason.

RE: 1000 Trails Pacific City, OR

You would have to be real lucky to find a site overlooking the water.

RE: 1000 Trails Pacific City, OR

We left there two weeks ago after spending two weeks there. One of my fav TT Preserves. We like to camp up near the top near the Club House that overlooks the Ocean. You can walk to the Ocean from your camp sites. There is a indoor swimming pool, min golf etc. This was our 17th straight year at Pac City that we spent two weeks at. Great Preserve !!!

RE: 1000 Trails Recommendations?

Washington State. People have different tastes in which preserves they like. Along the Coast, Try La Conner. We just left there. Great place. Anacorrtes and the town of La Conner are nearby. Farther south is Oceana and Long Beach. A little out of the way but can be nice. All three are right next to the ocean. Oregon. WE like Seaside alot. Thats where we are right now. Whalers Rest is next. Pacific City and South Getty a distant 3rd and 4th. Not many on the northern California Coast, Russian River is in the heart of the wine country Try and hit some of these. These preserves get pretty busy in the summer. Book early I pretty much agree with the above post. We are currently here in La Conner TT which is our fav since it is close to every thing. Pac City in Or is 2 on our list. Lake Of The Springs is nice when the weather is cooler in that area it will be near 100 there this week. Snowflower near Truckee Ca is pretty. The last time we were there the mosquito's were so bad we left a week early. Don't really care that much for any of the TT in southern Calif. The TT outside of Santa Barbara is nice since it is close to SB

RE: Towing with Ford F150

If you are involved in an accident being over weight you would be in a world of hurt to your pocket book. But I guess if you are a gambler "go for it"

RE: Thousand Trails for 45' coach

There was a Camper who came in yesterday with a 42 ft MH here at La Conner Thousand Ts. He said he looked for over an hour trying to find a place where he could get his rig into. He ended up near us with his MH sticking out into the road about three ft. Most of the time I would think you could find a site in TT Preserve as long as you did not come in FRIDAY or SAT night. I have never had a problem finding a site big enough for our 34 ft TT and LWB F250 TV
